AIR LIQUID – Dry Ice machine

Upgrading an old automation system to a current SIEMENS PLC and a SIEMENS HMI (Human Machine Interface) Operator Panel

The aim of this project was to prevent errors from affecting the daily production of this machine as it is the only machine in Lebanon producing Dry ICE for hospitals, Airplanes and Smoke Machines

Thanks to the Userfriendly platform – TwinCAT, allowing structured text programming, it was possible to acheive complex custom (optimized 7-segment) motion curve calculations cabable of handling dynamic changes of target points and resolving mathematical stress problems.

ROCKS SAW PROJECT

We built a low cost automation system for an automated rocks saw. We used a SIEMENS SIMATIC S7-200 Automation System , Incremental Rotary Encoder fixed on the gearbox and a low cost standard drive, a SIEMENS SINAMICS G110. We achieved a 0.01 mm resolution and precision which is a great result for a rock saw project.

TEMPERATURE CONTROLLING FOR AN ASPHALT PLANT

 

Controlling the temperature of an Asphalt Plant using a SIEMENS SIMATIC S7-200 Automation System & Thermocouple Sensors . We used a SIEMENS TP177B PN/DP Color Touch screen for monitoring and plotting temperature trends.

ZAAROUR EXPRESS & CLUB LIFT STATION - Skiing Resort

The project consists of refurbishing an old chairlift system to include the newest automation technology, the project consists of two stations,  departure and arrival .

The challenge was transmitting the electrical signals from station 2 to station 1 , distant 1.2 KM . here came the use of PROFINET over fiber optic network due to long distance between the stations . due to PROFINET, we could transmit not only IO signals, also we have installed 2 IP cameras at arrival stations, so the operators can monitor the Skiers there, and check if the system is working error free.

Using one protocol , we could use PROFINET to transmit IO signals and media, such as camera signal, internet, voice … . in case of damage of the fiber optic cable or any of the media converters, user can switch to IWLAN ( industrial wireless LAN) ,  which is also supported by PROFINET, thus the same features could be applied.

Routing from PROFIBUS to PROFINET and Vice VERSA is always possible too!
