Chemical Treatment

The system consist of:

Automate installed a system to collect and dispose the waste using state of the art technology to combine and neutralize streams for recycling and ensure stream is below the level of concentration to be considered waste. This system consist of several lift or pump stations which collect waste from the hoods and transfer it to the much larger liquid waste holding tank which will be configured to balance the pH of the solution and dilute the ionic content to levels low enough for disposal as non hazardous waste. The concentrated solvent waste cannot be diluted in this manner, so it is cost effective to keep this waste in the most concentrated form for recycling or full incineration. The dilute solvent waste will contain levels of solvent well below the threshold levels to be considered as waste and can therefore be disposed of as standard lab waste, however this waste must be kept from disposal until it can be verified that levels do not exceed those set by regulatory agencies.

- Since waste treatment  is the major part of an environmental solid waste management, this plant's intended design was to come up with, and install, a suitable,  widely available process technique in order to maximize the valuable outputs as well  as the minimization of environmental imapcts.

Within   the first  step,  the  so-called   mechanical  pre• treatment,  the fractions,   which are not biodegradable and  can be reutilised    as raw  material  respectively. e.g.  metal and plastics,  are separated  from  the organic waste fraction by means of crushing, splitting and separation. Within  the second step,  the so-called biological treatment, the  organic  rich  fraction  is treated   anaerobically.  During this  digestion   process the  organic substance  is decomposed by means of microorganisms    and opposed to an aerobic process  biogas is produced,  which can be used for the generation of the heat and electricity. Therefore no external energy will be necessary for the operation of the entire plant  the output of the digestion  process is a compost like  material  which contains  organic carbon as well as nutrients  like nitrogen and phosphate. Additionally,   a comprehensive   management   of waste water and  waste  air is provided  in order  to reduce emissions from  the  plant  as far as possible.   Therefore  the water consumption   is  optimized in such a manner that the water needed  for the  process  is reused  in an internal  cycle as much as possible.  Surplus  liquor  should be used as nutrient   rich irrigation   water  inagriculture.  Air  emissions    are exhausted   and the waste  air is  purified  by means  of a biologicaland a chemical  scrubber  system. Odorous substances  will be removed  and the  odor of waste will not be noticeable   after  purification.

- ITEC used SIEMENSA&D products  and solution to successfully deliver the job Standardized  on the Siemens S7-300  automation  systems,  Siemens  PROFIBUS and  Industrial  networks,  the automation   platform  controls  everything  from  the  flow of electricity to the amount  of reclaimed  water  being safely discharged from the plant. ITEC used WinCC that includes all the most  important communication  channels  for linking to the SIMATIC S7 315-2  PN/DP   controllers   via the S7 Protocol  Suite, as well as non-proprietary    channels  like PROFIBUS-DP/FMS,  DOE (Dynamic Data Exchange] and OPC (OLE for Process  Control); you can get other  communication   channels  as Add-ons.  Since all controller manufacturers provide appropriate   OPC servers  for heir  hardware,  there  are virtually   no limits  to what you can connect  to WinCC.

The efficiency of biogenic production processes and optimum operation of the plant largely depends on continuous monitoring of the biogas composition. 

The Set BGA analyzes CH4 and CO2 using the proven ULTRAMAT 23 IR analyzer. 

Concentration of 02 is done using electrochemical sensorsand also con• verted into output signalsof 4 to 20 mA.

- The modular design of the system takes into account the physical conditions of the gas with regard to temperature  and moisture in that various gas preparation com• ponents for heating or drying the sample gas can be configured as required.

Set BGA is designed with a high safety standard and is  equipped with flow monitoring  and detonation protection  in accordance with EN 12874 in the sample gas path. To increase safety even further, a gas sensor for monitoring the ambient air is connected.

- Gas  Extraction from gas wells through two independent blowers (du• ty-standby). If gas sampling Result provided by set BGA is suitable for flaring according to customer settings, an ignition procedure will take place and the flaring system will turn ON until oxygen concentration goes wrong or condensate removal is in need.

Data reading from Gas analyzers  is done through profibus communication between Ultramat23    and S7-1200 Profibus Master Device, and then transmitted to a paperless data recorder through Banner Mulli• hop Wireless Data Radios.
